Some readers have asked me if there was anything they could do to support me. I suspect what they really mean is, “How can we motivate you to write more?” Which is fine by me, of course.
I’ve always hesitated to give a more extensive answer beyond, “You know, reviews help a lot.” Which they do. And then I notice something and think, “I wish I had some more support in this. It’s only a mouse click after all.”
So, after some hesitation, I decided to start taking notes and collect some actions readers could take with little effort. (Okay, there will be things on this page that will take some effort.)
The name of the game is “visibility.” Some suggestions may seem trivial, even a little silly, but they all promote the visibility of my books. More visibility leads to more people reading my books.
There are a lot of things you can do, if you’re so inclined, none of which cost money and most of which take only a mouse click. Some might take more effort like writing a few sentences.
As far as ebooks are concerned Amazon rules and it often rules harshly. Amazon sells millions of ebooks and its complicated algorithms decide whether a book will be easy to find on the site.
Very simply — oversimply — put, the more interaction a book has, the more Amazon will show it to its customers. The best and most influential interaction is buying the book. But even if you have already done so there are a few other things you can do. Even if you have bought the book from another vendor, as long as you have an Amazon account you can also help.

Goodreads is an important platform for readers to communicate with each other, recommend books to each other, or just review, rate, and find books.
I have an Author’s Account there. If you have a Goodreads account you can also help.
BookBub is a website/service that sends out a daily free email newsletter to alert their subscribers of free and discounted books, often limited in time, that match the reader’s personal literary or genre interests.
While there a many similar services, BookBub is arguably the largest and the one with the most functionality.
I have an Author’s Page there.
If you want to support me on BookBub you need your own account. As usual an account is free and easy to create. Once you have an account, you can (this is going to sound familiar by now)
To be honest, I’m still looking into all the possibilities of BookBub, so expect a few updates.
