The Other Stories

Introduction

Both these stories were written before Dark Tales of Randamor the Recluse.

A Dish Served Cold was my first story ever. It was written between the end of January and the 21st of February 2009. It starts out as a coming of age story of a young, rich gay boy but about halfway it turns rather nasty. In the slightly alternative world of Dish, slavery has been reintroduced and is an accepted factor, not in the least as it keeps the economy running smoothly.

I think the story has some problems. I would probably write it somewhat different now. Maybe one day I will. In chapter three there is a rather long history lesson. I should have shown you, rather than explained all the stuff that you need to know to be able to follow the narrative. Most of my first readers put my worries at rest, saying they quite liked the history lesson. I think they were just being nice.

Maybe some day I will revisit it and write a few extra chapters to flesh it out some more. As it is now, it is about 80 000+ words long. The length of a small novel. A few extra chapters would bring that number over 100 000.

Just don't mess with us was written right after I finished Dish. While writing out the tenth or eleventh chapter, and when the complete narrative was already fixed in my head, I randomly wondered if I would have another story in me. About two days later, while typing out the next chapter, I was disturbed by fragments of dialog and visions of situations that didn't belong in Dish. A young man presented himself and he wanted to tell me about his family, which he thinks is quiet run of the mill, but of course it isn't ordinary at all. Within ten minutes I knew his name was Alan. He's kind of a laconic, laid back, sweet but kinky, smart but lazy guy and he is very protective about his family. He's also very much in love. After a while I had to send him away. I can't write two stories at once.

It has different structure. It is not one narrative, but each chapter is a self contained story, always in the same setting. The stories are supposed to be humorous. Oh, and I guarantee at least a 20 to 30 % sex content in each chapter.

Randamor appeared a day or so later, but after the dramatic events of Dish I was more inclined to listen to Alan first.

You can find them both in the left menu under The Other Stories.
